Situated in Sydney’s CBD between the Royal Botanic Gardens and Parliament House on Macquarie Street, the State Library of New South Wales is internationally renowned and one of Australia’s leading libraries. Australia's historic Mitchell Library was opened in 1910 and originally housed the collections bequeathed to NSW by David Scott Mitchell. In 1942 the magnificent Mitchell Reading Room was officially opened.
